Burbadhan Tripura, aged 35, son of Jinnaram Tripura, along with his younger brother and one friend has come to our Mission on 29th July 09 for medical Check-up. Earlier he was in Govt. Hospital in Tripura for many days. Tripura Govt. Hospital referred him to SSKM Govt. Hospital in Kolkata for better treatment. The doctors from SSKM Hospital advised him to get admission immediately. However, it was very unfortunate that the Hospital Superitendent could not provide him any bed. He has to wait indifinite period. In the meantime his condition is deteriorating. We could not sit seeing his suffering.
Burbadhan Tripura, Tripuri tribes, having Rheumatic Heart Disease with severe Calcific Mitral and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, was born on 11/08/1975 at a remote village called Kalachara Para, P.O. Boratali, P.S. Manu Bazar, Sabroom Sub-division, Dist. South Tripura, Tripura, India. Tripuri tribes are seen only in the State of Tripura. Most of these tribal people are farmers, having low source of Income. Being born in such remote area among poor backward minorities, Burbadhan cannot afford all medical expenses. Even he never visited big cities like Kolkata. It was his friend who has brought him here.
I started to think what I can do for him. Accordingly I went to Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals, Kolkata, with which we are having tie-up for Health Care Services. I met Dr. Ramesh Sheshadhri, Cardio Surgeon, who has helped us a lot for getting discount from Hospital. He was admitted to hospital on 17/08/09 and operation has been done successfully on 21/08/09 along with Mitral Valve replacement. He was discharged from hospital after being stable on 28/08/09. The total cost for his medical treatment is Rs. 227,651/-. The Mission sanctioned Rs. 20,000 and hospital has also given contribution Rs. 57,651/-. Staying at our Mission both pre-operative and post operative free of charge of fooding and lodging, now he is doing his follow-up, and waiting for the doctor’s signal for returning home.
