Ms. Kyi Kyi Soe, aged 46, residence of Second Street, Ward (5), Bogale Township, Ayeyarwaddy Division,Myanmar, came to India for her kidney transplant
on 9th May 2011 along with her brother, Mr. Aung Kyaw Latt, the kidney donor, her sister Than Htay Maw and her brother-in-law Mr. Soe Moe. The reason of her kidney damaged was due to high blood pressure.
According to Dr. V.V. Lakshminarayanan, senior Nephrologist of Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals, Kolkata, 20 % and 60 % of Kt patients are found to have high blood pressure and diabetes respectively. Many people are having less awareness about high blood pressure and diabetes. The highest percentage of the cause of our kidney damage is due to diabetes. In fact, we have to control diabetes before it controls us.
After completion of all medical tests and required documents, Ms. Kyi Kyi Soe was admitted to Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals, Kolkata, on 13/6/2011 and Renal Transplant has been done to her body on 15/6/11 successfully. Her brother Mr. Aung Kyaw Latt has donated his one kidney to save her life. She was discharged from hospital on 27/6/11. And today (1st August 2011) she returned home with happiest mood, for she is leading normal life now.
