Mamta Bibi became the member of SHG of RR Young Buddhist Student Literacy Mission in 2010. Before joining our Mission, with three children she has to work as daily wage labor. Her husband Sirajul Haque is also seasonal labor, working outside the state of West Bengal. Their daily income is not sufficient to feed the children. Both husband and wife became frustrated with the present situation of their livelihood.

After becoming the member of SHG of our Mission, she took first loan Rs. 5000/=. With this small amount she started small scale business and then she took 2nd loan amounting Rs. 10000/=. This time she got more potential to expend her small business. With the third loan she ventures to open a grocery shop at her village. Now they are settled with this shop and their daily sales are now more than 1800 to 2000. They can feed their children with nutritious food and able to send the children to school. Now she is having more plans to expand her business and repairing their house.

Young Buddhist Students Literacy Mission is a not-for-profit organization based in Kolkata, India. The Mission's primary aim is to promote Buddhist Art, culture and literature throughout the world. But, it has also been working a wide range of community services including an orphanage and a charitable school, health care program, women empowerment program, and relief works for the victims of Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar.
